The Philippines issued the world’s first postage stamp to depict baseball. The 2-centavo stamp (Scott #380), featuring a baseball catcher and a batter, was issued on April 14, 1934, to commemorate the 10th Far Eastern Championship Games, held in Manila from May 16 to 20, 1934.

Baseball is a team sport played between two teams of nine players. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field, where the teams take turns batting and fielding. The batter attempts to hit the ball thrown by the pitcher and then runs around the bases to score a run.
