In celebration of the Philippines as a founding member and vanguard of multilateralism, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) released a commemorative stamp and first day cover commemorating the 80th founding anniversary of the United Nations and membership of the Philippines as one of the organization’s founding member on June 26, 2025.
On 26 June 1945, the Philippines, together with 50 other nations, signed the Charter of the United Nations in San Francisco at the conclusion of the United Nations Conference on International Organization. The Charter came into force on 24 October 1945, thus establishing the United Nations, which now has 193 members. The se-tenant pair stamps dubbed “The Philippines’ 80 Years in the United Nations: A Journey of Hope & Endeavor” celebrates the United Nations as an enduring edifice of the collective will of nations for global peace.
