A joint stamp issue is when two or more postal administrations collaborate to release stamps with a common design, theme, or purpose on the same day or around the same time.

 

ASEAN joint issues are excluded from this list and are presented on a separate page.

 

Philippine Independence Centennial

The first Philippine joint stamp issue was a collaboration with Mexico and Spain to commemorate the centenary of the country’s declaration of independence.

 

Mexico's stamp depicts a galleon that once sailed the historic Manila-Acapulco trade route from 1565 to 1815, while Spain's stamp features the Basílica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebú and the Santo Niño de Cebú, the oldest Christian artifact in the Philippines. The Philippines released counterpart stamps to those of Mexico and Spain, as well as a third stamp depicting a woman holding the Philippine flag, symbolizing independence.

The stamps highlight cultural festivals — the Sonori (Cow Play), a traditional part of the Hangawi harvest celebration in South Korea, and the Panagbenga Flower Festival held in Baguio City, Philippines.

The stamps feature folk dances - Ten Krathop Sark of Thailand and the Tinikling of the Philippines.

 

 

40^th Anniversary of the Philippines-Singapore

The stamps feature bridges, with two represented from each country. Singapore presented the Cavenagh Bridge, its only suspension bridge and among the oldest, along with the Henderson Waves, the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. The Philippines, on the other hand, featured the Bamban Bridge in Tarlac and the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Cebu.

The stamps feature endangered marine life of the two countries: the Gangetic Dolphin or Ganges River Dolphin (Platanista gangetica) for India and the Whale Shark or Butanding (Rhincodon typus) for the Philippines.

 

 

50^th Anniversary of the Philippines-Nigeria

The stamps feature the national flowers of both countries — Daisy (Mesembryanthemum sp.) for Nigeria, and Sampaguita (Jasminium sambac) for the Philippines.

The Vatican City stamp is actually part of a 4-stamp issue to commemorate the 2^nd anniversary of the pontification of Pope Francis.

 

 

The Philippine Rescue of Jews from the Holocaust

Both stamps show the Open Doors Monument at the Holocaust Memorial Park in Rishon LeZion, Israel.

The stamps feature the national flowers of each country: Lavender (Lavandula pedunculata) for Portugal and Sampaguita (Jasminium sambac) for the Philippines.

The stamps feature works by French and Filipino artists: Paysage du Tarn-et-Garonne (1941) by French painter Jacques Villon, also known as Gaston Duchamp, and Bayanihan (1962) by Filipino painter Macario Vitalis.

The stamps feature butterflies: Common Rose (Pachliopta aristolochlae), Singapore’s national butterfly, and Luzon Lacewing (Cethosia luzonica), a species that is endemic to the Philippines.

The stamps feature the Marrakech Menara Airport (Morocco) and Terminal 2 of Mactan-Cebu International Airport (Philippines).
